Finger cymbal music & improvisational layered dance
Finding soul in skill with freedom within and beyond Middle Eastern traditions

Ah, there you are.
Welcome, I'm so glad you're here.
Playing finger cymbals while we move or dance is powerful. It makes us whole.
Rooted in the vast and subtle palette of rhythm and movement that is the legacy of the Middle East - full of spirit, nuance and pleasure - it makes our hearts more open to the world.
Playing zills can be as simple as matching the sound of our feet walking: tik-tik-tik, like that. Playful simplicity takes us straight to the childlike heart, and in this state of play we discover the fantastic complexities of both the dance and the music.
These ancient arts have deep wells, so there is always room to go deeper.
Become more skilled, love what you do & make it your own, become more yourself: this is the heart of Oyna -
Come on in, you're home!
